There was really nothing else to say aside from the fact that it was a lazy Saturday. I went to the store in the morning, did the dishes, worked a little bit, and finished my laundry. I did get the chance to hang out with my love. We just watched The Great British Baking Show.

We finished Collection 8. We did episode 8: Desserts. The bakers made 12 mini cheesecakes for their signatures, two Sussex pond puddings for their technical, and a jelly art design cake for their showstopper. Let me just say, I was scared. Peter had a tough time during these challenges. Hermine’s showstopper was amazing, and yes it was something that I would buy. No surprise that she was the star baker for this week. I was pretty sad that Marc went home but also pretty happy that Peter stayed. 

We also watched episode 9: Patisserie Week. The bakers made 12 Pate a Savarin, a Danish Cornucopia for the technical, and 25 cube-shaped cakes. Most of them thought that it would be Hermine’s week since patisserie was her specialty. She definitely struggled. It was almost painful to watch. Peter however bounced back since he almost got eliminated the week prior. He got a handshake for this signature challenge – 12 non-alcoholic savarin. Dave’s cornucopia bake had us (meaning me and love, as well as everyone in the tent) laughing because of how he displayed the phallic cone. Dave’s and Peter’s cube cakes definitely looked good. My hun preferred Dave’s cube cakes, while I definitely preferred Peter’s cube cakes. Hermine ended up getting eliminated while Peter was the star baker.

For the finals of this season, it was Dave, Laura, and Peter. We had some opinions about Laura being on the finals but oh well. The bakers were asked to make eight custard slices for their signature bake, eight walnut swirls, and a dessert tower for their showstopper. Both males did well on the challenges and then there was Laura. But anyway, Peter won the season. But I would not have been mad if Dave won since he also did really well.

We also watched two episodes of the latest season – the one that is currently ongoing on Netflix. We think the contestants were interesting. We already have our favorites. And there were already two bakers that I am annoyed with. One of them got eliminated on the second episode – thank goodness. There is still one more remaining. I’m actually kind of annoyed that they didn’t eliminate two on the second episode.
